Just wrapped up another Mod at school and received straight A’s once again! Woot!
This Mod was particularly awesome because I had an Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator class. I really got to play around with Graphic arts and that was a lot of fun. And I think my straight A’s this Mod and some good words from my professors, ended up getting me first dibs on an internship being offered upstairs! Lots of exciting things are happening and that makes me very excited with anticipation! But one thing will remain constant…the dedication i put into my site! I can promise you that!

Dog Chewed My Laptop Cord
Hi again, nothing good to blog about at the moment and I am not in the best mood because of Bailey my now 7-month old standard poodle puppy chewing on the power cord of my Sony VAIO laptop. I was sitting there watching some show on TV with my kids, my laptop was powered down and all but it was hooked up and the cord plugged in. I heard a popping and cracking noise that sounded like stereo speakers and thought it was one of our regular speakers shorting out or whatever. I then looked down and saw the stupid bastard chewing – on the freaking cord! It didn’t even phase him but he did stop once I yelled his name and he put the cord down immediately and walked away. Then he must have realized that he did something wrong because of the tone in my voice and he tried to run off…lol.
I should have seen it coming…he had already chewed up the cord to our Dyson vaccuum last Thursday – we took it to a repair shop 35 miles away over the weekend, they told us it would cost $60 and could take up to two weeks before they would be done with it. I am so pissed off! Then again, I should have been responsible enough to “puppy-proof” my house and put up all cords I guess. But the thing is the monster has six different toys, a gigantic chew bone with a treat in the center (which he chewed the treat thing out of within a day). Everytime I start to like the dog more and get attached to him he pulls this crap on us and then it repels me from him. I know, I know…you all will tell me “he’s just a puppy, he’ll grow out of it”, “he doesn’t know any better” or “he’s bored”, etc. I’m sorry but it doesn’t make me feel any better. I already am having to pay $60 for a new power cord and now I don’t know how much it will cost for a new laptop cord. Our last laptop that we had the cord was like $90 or something like that – some ridiculous price. Husband isn’t too happy about it, I told him maybe we could just wrap it in electrical tape since the cord isn’t chewed up all that bad but the inside of it is exposed somewhat. I don’t know if that would fix it temporarily, hubby says that it will mess it up and end up ruining the actual laptop but I don’t know about all that…
So I don’t know about getting an update done this week but I will try my best I promise. We only have one laptop and then the other computer we could use IF his son wasn’t here all the time but that’s just it….he’s here ALL THE TIME practically, so that’s going to be a problem….unless we can figure out time to shoot a quick set or two and upload while he’s at his college classes for a couple of hours, but I don’t know how long it will take to upload since our internet connection sucks and it kind of slow when it comes to uploading 50-60 pictures – might have to make it a Quick Pic set I guess.
Anyways, my laptop power is getting low…need to power down to save some for later so this is my blog/rant/bitching episode of the week! I’m beginning to think my Bailey should have been named “Marley” afterall!
Some really nice surprises
I got to go to a really nice thing the other day and it was a complete surprise. My husband took me to go see the traveling Pharaoh exhibit and to go visit the local art museum. These types of things are so not his thing. That is what made it an even more wonderful surprise. I will say it was not the best Egyptian exhibit I have seen. Ramses II that was in Memphis years ago has to be the best one. But it had some nice artifacts from middle class society. Some really nice pieces of pottery and a beaded dress (it had been restored) that was really cool. They also had a mummified kitten which was just a little creepy to me. They had a couple of actual mummies on display that didn’t bother me at all there was just something about the kitten. I think the most disappointing thing for me though was the piece from the time of Caesar Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus Augustus it was a Christian cross it wasn’t that they had it there it was the fact it was the LAST thing that was shown in the exhibit and how it was displayed. It is hard to explain but it was done in a way to leave the impression that he more or less cured Egypt of their ways. The art museum left a little to be desired. They had a couple Monett’s and a Picasso. Most of their collection was prints though so that was disappointing and their local artist collection really needed some nicer pieces as I know they have a lot more talented people that what they had represented. I had a fabulous time though and really enjoyed being able to do a culture exhibit. What is really quite funny is when we first got there (I HAD no clue what we were doing) he pulled up to the Military Museum first and I would have enjoyed it just as much. What can I say I am a history fanatic. I have so much going on in the next couple of weeks that I imagine they will just fly by. But I can’t wait to see this adventure to the end. I do think Spring is finally here in the south and I have the sun burn to prove it so watch for those pictures coming soon. I am going to go try to do some fun outdoor pics tomorrow.

I just received my new Victoria’s Secret catalog in the mail and was disgusted at how thin and unhealthy these girls look.
